Seasonal Employment: Rural Mowing Operator

The Municipal District of Lesser Slave River is seeking a full time Seasonal Mowing Operator. The positions will be based out of our Slave Lake shop, Smith, and/or Flatbush office, dependent on where candidate resides, with a 40-hour work week.
Responsibilities:
- Mechanical vegetation management using small tractors rototillers, pull behind and side arm mowers, large tractors.
- Operation, maintenance, and inspection of equipment including mowers, trimmers, ATVs/UTVs, trucks, tractors and trailers
- Loading, unloading, and towing equipment on trailers
- Participation in the Municipal Health and Safety Program
- Ensure safe operation of the equipment being used, and use appropriate PPE
- Service and maintain all related equipment
- Ensure that Work Safe Practices are being followed during site visits
- Use MD materials wisely and report any shortages to the supervisor
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma – required
- Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License or GED – required
- Mechanical aptitude – required
- Experience with operation of equipment – required
- Willingness to work in all types of weather conditions – required
- Strong work ethic, self-motivated, positive attitude – required
- Ability to work well under pressure, individually and as part of a team – required
Salary Range: $27.66 – 36.40/hour, dependent on experience.
